(new single and new album-melodic punk)CHASER TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM “SOUND THE SIRENS” ON DYING SCENE RECORDS / EFFERVESCENCE RECORDS, STREAM FIRST SINGLE “BONFIRE”

CHASER Promo Photo

DYING SCENE RECORDS and EFFERVESCENCE RECORDS have just announced that on July 20th they will be co-releasing “Sound The Sirens”, the 4th full-length album from Southern California skate-punk act Chaser.
Sitting firmly between ‘94 NOFX and ‘95 No Use For A Name, this is all-that-is-holy by way of all-that-is-Epifat. Double-time drums, anthemic choruses, and big, sunny SoCal whoa-ohs – on “Sound the Sirens” the band doesn’t just have the sound, they’ve got the songs. Through eleven tracks, you’ll see a band at the top of their songwriting game and you can get yourself a taste by streaming the album‘s first single, “Bonfire,” on bandcamp.
While Dying Scene Records is handling digital distribution, the folks at Effervescence Records are handling vinyl. They are in the process of pressing an LP limited to a run of 150 Snow White Opaque and 150 Clockwork Orange Transparent.
Pre-orders are up and running for this album. Snag a digital copy here and vinyl/CD/bundles here.

(new video)WATCH SHARP/SHOCK’S RAUCOUS MUSIC VIDEO FOR “DANCING ALL NIGHT”

Sharp/Shock may be hot off the heels of a support slot for Against Me! and the release of their stellar sophomore album Youth Club, but that doesn’t mean they’re slowing down any time soon. Inspired by their time on the road, the punk power trio, comprised of Davey Warsop (Beat Union, Suedehead), Dan Smith (The Dear & Departed; world-renowned tattoo artist) and Jared Shavelson (The Hope Conspiracy, Paint It Black), have released a found footage video for “Dancing All Night.” Watch the video for the punchy punk track via New Noise today.

Sharp/Shock is a band that was brought together by serendipity and stayed together thanks to a reverence for British and American subculture. Singer/guitarist Davey Warsop and bassist/vocalist Dan Smith are both UK exports, but they didn’t cross paths until they were both transplanted to California. Jared Shavelson, a jazz-trained drummer hailing from New Jersey, would end up completing the trio perfectly. Despite their dissimilar geographical beginnings, they quickly realized they were all very much from the same place.
The band’s second LP, Youth Club finds Sharp/Shock’s three players settled in an undeniable equilibrium both personally and sonically. From the fiercely cogent lyrics of “I Don’t Want A Nuclear Family,” to the brazen honesty of “Bad Lad,” the tracks featured on Youth Club combine classic American punk pillars with a nostalgia-driven approach and British lip. With vocalist/guitarist Davey Warsop doubling down as the album’s producer (he has previously served behind the board for Green Day, Foo Fighters, Bad Religion, and more), Sharp/Shock’s sound is more fully realized than ever before.
Youth Club is available now via Matt Skiba’s Heart & Skull Records—order a copy here. Catch the band at Making Punk Great Again in Pomona, CA, on July 9.
