The Father Of Serpents is the band from Belgrade, Serbia, which is kind of supergroup having an experienced crew that gained their reputation in the bands such as The Hell, Tibia, Tamerlan and Rain Delay.
This is the new album and this band plays emotional doom metal with a lot of death metal influences and they have the mission to bring Serbia on the world map of death doom metal scenes. Believe me, these guys do it really well. The albums consists of 10 beautiful songs. The music of The Father Of Serpents is not some boring droning one or two riffs funeral doom, but quite the contrary, as the album is listened, more and more beauty and splendour of their music unfolds in our ears and mind. The atmosphere is somber and emotional, but there are also some epic down tuned melodies and catchy guitar hooks that keep playing in your ear on and on. I can not avoid the comparition with early Ashes You Leave, but these guys are better. The vocals are growled but there are also a lot of clean singing in an interplay of good and evil, light and dark, life and death. The violin is not in the song structures because of a trend, but nicely fits in the structures of sorrow. This is an excellent album.
