Moribundo hail from Spain, I must admit that I have never heard of them prior to listening to this release. Now I am sorry I didnt hear their music before.
Moribundo plays death doom metal and this album contains for tracks. As you may have guessed if you ever listened to such music, the tracks are a bit longer than average with shortest being just over seven minutes long. That fact doesnt make the album boring or lame. Quite the contrary, the song structures are dinamic, not repetitive. There are some really epic and melodic parts with somber melodies and atmospheric keyboard overtones layered over soundtrack for funeral. As I understand, the lyrics are in Spanish language. I loved the alteration between deeper, more guttural vocals and screeched blackish vocals. When listening to this album, comparisons with early My Dying Bride and Ashes You Leave come to mind immediately but this album has more melodic and epic vibe. It feels like watching some old Vincent Price or Peter Cushing horror movie and just enjoying the vibe knowing that it is dark, but beautiful.
